An extreme kayak and road bike race to benefit ALS research and the Green RIver Access Fund
Saturday, April 19, 2008, Hendersonville, North Carolina

Festival

Following the race, there will be a festival for all racers and spectators. All race fees include entry to the festival. For those not racing, a $15 festival fee covers music, food, and parking.   Wilderness Cove is accepting reservations for primitive campsites and cabins.   There are men and women's shower houses available for racers to clean up. Accomidations will also be available at the Saluda Mountain Lodge. Ask for the Jerry's Baddle discount to get $20 off normal rate of $89. Along with the discount, the Saluda Mountain Lodge will donate a portion of the rate towards our fundraising.

The festival will start around 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 19th and continue into the night.   There will be live music for most of the afternoon and evening.   There should be plenty of food for racers and spectators.   Alcohol is allowed for anyone over 21.   Local authorities will be aware of the event, and expect them to be patrolling the area.   The silent auction includes outdoor gear and top quality products from our sponsors. Auction bidding will start at 1:00 pm and end at 5:00pm.

Music:
Red Dirt Floor

The food will include:

  • BBQ Pig
  • Jambalaya (chicken and sausage)
  • Snacks, desserts, goodies from local businesses and individual donation
  • A vegetarian option

Bring a chair. Plan to stay after the race to enjoy the food, music, and people.   As the sun sets, we'll have a toasty fire to keep things going.

Camping reservations with Wilderness Cove or a room with Saluda Mountian Lodge are encouraged for Friday and/or Saturday nights.

Sorry Fido, dogs are not allowed at this years festival.
