Jerry's Baddle

Jerry with friends

race day - April 25, 2009 - Hendersonville NC

An extreme kaya and road bike race to benefits ALS research and the Green River Access Fund

Jerry's Baddle is a dual sport race that began in 2006 to honor a good friend, Jerry Beckwith, who had been diagnosed with ALS. The race was born out of a desire to keep his spirit and passion alive by raising money to help fight the disease that took his life and to foster the community he loved.

In the past three years, the event has raised over $30,000 for ALS research and over $10,000 for Green River Access Fund. The 2009 proceeds will benefit both NC ALS Catfish Hunter Chapter and the Green River Access Fund. In 2009, we look forward to building on the successes of the past 3 years. We will return to Wilderness Cove Campground, and we plan to concentrate our efforts on the kayak/bike event. There will be no formal bike-only event, but we plan to advertise the endless local routes to ride at your own schedule.
